What type(s) of cardiovascular disease do you live with?

There are so many types of cardiovascular disease; what condition(s) brought you to our community?

  1. I saw this community answer today. I must be a member but I have too many emails to remember what I am a member of. Anyway I have had diagnosis of Atrial Fib. First time was about 16 yrs ago. I got no treatment. I felt fine and occasionally I could feel a rapid heart beat. Then last May I had an incident of weakness and had to sit on the floor. Then as a result I spent day in ER. I was given meds for AFib. Just had new blood tests in April 2025 and my numbers are quite better with meds. I saw my Cardiologist yesterday and he said all looks good and I need to stay on the meds. Saw my internist a couple days ago and he said all is good. I came off MS meds about 5 yrs ago. No change and I think I am doing okay. I see my neurologist at beginning of September. So much doctor patient interaction these days is online using My chart. I try to make appointments while the weather is good and then I hibernate in the snowy cold months.

    1. Thank you for being part of our CardiovascularDisease community and joining the conversation. I am so glad you are feeling better. How do you feel about communicating with your doctor digitally with MyChart? Does it make things easier on you or do you prefer talking to your doctor? Kathy (Team member)

  2. Atrial fib with Rapid Reverse ventricular response. I've been in critical care twice, coded at home and in the ambulance. Was in critical care for over 2 weeks while they tried to convert me. Tough, tough road, I have had cardioversions, I have a pacemaker and defibrillators put in my chest and multiple cardiologists following my case.

    1. You have had quite a journey. I'm glad you have found our community of others with CVD to connect with. Is there something in particular you wish to learn? Warmly, Kathy (Team member)

  3. Atrial Fibrillation and previous MI. I take Eliquis and Isosorbide Mononitrate.

    1. Severe aortic valve stenosis
