No one can find what is wrong with me....

Hello,
I hope this does not come across as a complaining monologue, but I have decided to reach out to interwebs in order to get other opinions. I have seen several cardios and I feel that I am getting no where. Here is a synopsis:
-2016 started having unexplained chest pain, felt like I was going to die, and rapid pulse and BP that would spike and plummet. I would also wake up in middle of night drenched in sweat, gray, and heart racing.
-Several visits to ERs and EKGs, and several cardio doctors later still no answer.
-Moved over seas for several years, was diagnosed with POTS. Also had echos done, holter monitors, and a calcium score CT. All within normal. Never had cath done.
-Started regiment of magnesium and Met. Tart. 25mg TID and seemed to be stabilizing.
-Moved back to states, current cardio switched me to Metop. Succ. and have been throwing PVC's like crazy (18/min). Started back on the Tartrate but they still persist....

I cannot go through the mental and physical turmoil of suffering symptomatically again, especially while I was managing things okay. I worry with how many PVC's I keep throwing. Am on the Zio for two weeks to catch what they can.

Has anyone had anything similar? Any idea how to pursue asking questions to my doctors about finding answers without be brushed aside because I am 39 and a female. Any tests anyone has had that helped them reach a diagnosis? I have been told maybe a sleep study, but have an ask in to my GP for that one. Any suggestions or help to not let this ruin my daily life would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Hello I am so sorry you have to deal with so much, and for so long! Thanks for your question! It’s a tough one to answer, because treatments can work differently for different people, so it’s hard to say if there is a “best” treatment. While you may get feedback from the community on what has worked for them as individuals, we always encourage people to speak with their doctor or specialist, if they haven’t already, about how any treatment may work for them specifically.

As you've mentioned, advocating for yourself is hard, but it is so important. It's also something many people struggle with. Here's an article about how one woman finally spoke up and the results she had. I hope it inspires you to keep on advocating for yourself. Please keep us posted on how you’re doing! Warmly, Kathy (Team member)
