Diet and Cardiovascular Disease

Do you manage your cardiovascular disease with diet? Or, has CVD affected how you eat?

  1. I have CAD and I am also on dialysis so mostly follow a renal friendly diet. I've recently looked into the heart healthy diet and found there are some things that work for one but not the other. It's rather frustrating.

    1. I know which foods are high potassium or phosphorus and avoid those. I follow my labs which are done every month in the center. I was concerned about oatmeal but asked the dietician and she said it was okay.

    2. That sounds good, at least you know what works! Wishing you all the best! -Olivia

  2. I am too lazy to learn to cook.

    1. if you do the rotisserie chicken try and remove the skin to avoid additional fat. I don't cook a lot but found making chicken in a skillet with olive oil and salt free seasonings to be rather easy.

    2. Thank you for chiming in, I hope this helps in the future! -Olivia
