What type(s) of cardiovascular disease do you live with?

There are so many types of cardiovascular disease; what condition(s) brought you to our community?

  1. I have high cholesterol and tachycardia

    1. Thank you for sharing your experience. Do you have a good medical team that helps you manage these two conditions? All the best, Kathy (Team member)

  2. Have you ever purchased a piece of tech for ONE feature or app and prayed you never use it? And you find, after a time, it’s the most used part of that tech? That would be the ECG on my Apple Watch.
When Apple announced the ECG, I had already used a different ECG device, but it got too much “clutter.’ I’d been treated for PSVT ten years before, and I’d had an episode or two since, but my doc wanted to see “a strip” to document it. So a new watch. In the past 16 months, I’ve had PSVTs running from 120s to 190s coming out of a sound sleep. I could just tap the face of the watch, put my finger on the “stem,” and watch the ECG a recording on the watch face. Milliseconds after it transferred to my iPhone, I could document it for my doctors and send it to them in real time.

    1. I have high cholesterol, hypertension runs in my family and my older brother just died from a massive heart attack.

      1. I’m so very sorry for the loss of your brother. I lost my little sister almost eight years ago. I understand the pain your family is feeling. Please take care of yourself — be gentle.
        Gentle hugs,
        MLS

      2. My sympathy for the loss of your sister, as well. Warmly, Kathy (Team member)

    2. I saw this community answer today. I must be a member but I have too many emails to remember what I am a member of. Anyway I have had diagnosis of Atrial Fib. First time was about 16 yrs ago. I got no treatment. I felt fine and occasionally I could feel a rapid heart beat. Then last May I had an incident of weakness and had to sit on the floor. Then as a result I spent day in ER. I was given meds for AFib. Just had new blood tests in April 2025 and my numbers are quite better with meds. I saw my Cardiologist yesterday and he said all looks good and I need to stay on the meds. Saw my internist a couple days ago and he said all is good. I came off MS meds about 5 yrs ago. No change and I think I am doing okay. I see my neurologist at beginning of September. So much doctor patient interaction these days is online using My chart. I try to make appointments while the weather is good and then I hibernate in the snowy cold months.

      1. Thank you for being part of our CardiovascularDisease community and joining the conversation. I am so glad you are feeling better. How do you feel about communicating with your doctor digitally with MyChart? Does it make things easier on you or do you prefer talking to your doctor? Kathy (Team member)
